Tiddler
In the book, Tiddler is a small, adventurous fish who loves to tell exaggerated stories to his friends. Each day, he weaves fantastic tales about why he’s late to school, describing everything from meeting a mermaid to being captured by fishermen. Although his classmates initially find his stories hard to believe, one day, when Tiddler actually does get lost, his tales lead him back home, as various sea creatures recognize him from his stories.
Tiddler’s story is full of fun rhymes and repetitive elements, making it a delightful read-aloud for children. Julia Donaldson’s signature humor and Axel Scheffler’s vibrant illustrations capture Tiddler’s lively, playful spirit, celebrating creativity, storytelling, and a little bit of mischief.
